If location is everything, as the old business adage says, it is certainly true of Birmingham-Bloomfield, a community like no other in Southeast Michigan.

The Birmingham-Bloomfield community, full of gently rolling hills, tree-lined streets, beautifully appointed homes, manicured lawns and parks, is also a center for accounting, finance, insurance, legal, real estate, retail and other services.

Beverly Hills, with over 4,000 households includes some small commercial sections but it is primarily a residential community of six square miles.  Bingham Farms, a very small, 780 acre residential community of 422 households has managed to balance a bustling commercial zone and a quiet, premium residential community with a rural character.  The city of Birmingham with over 9,000 households, serves as the hub of the area.  A pedestrian-friendly downtown shopping area is filled with fine shops, restaurants, art galleries, services and a variety of cultural events scheduled throughout the year.  This four and a half square mile city is indeed one in which to "live, shop and play".  Bloomfield Hills, with over 1,500 households, is an exclusive five square mile residential area with no industrial development and a very small number of commercial and office firms.  Bloomfield Township, a 25 square-mile area with 16,000 households continues to grow, both in prestigious residential development and expanding retail opportunities.  These communities are mostly served by the Birmingham and Bloomfield Hills schools but some neighborhoods fall within the boundaries of other districts.
